Guidelines

The Guidelines for Reporting the Performance of Dams describe a process for reporting dam incidents. They define:

The guidelines were prepared by a crosssection of dam safety engineers from the public and private sectors. The process for reporting dam incidents was developed to work within existing dam safety practice. As such, the reporting engineer is not required to prepare a special report to document a dam incident, rather, the Guidelines call for copies of documents that are generated in the normal course of engineering evaluations (e.g., dam inspection reports, drawings).
