FAQ's on the NPDP


1. What is the NPDP?

The NPDP is a cooperative effort of dam safety professionals in the public and private sector. The program was created to develop information resources on the performance of dams to support dam safety.

2. How is the program supported?

Funding for the NPDP is currently provided through an Affiliate's program. The Affiliate's program provides organziations that wish to support the capital growth of the program and to share in its benefits a cost effective means to do so. Affiliates make an annual contribution that supports the day-to-day operations of the program. The Federal Emergency Management Agency provided the initial funding for the NPDP and is an active program Affiliate. The long term plan is to support the program by means of Affiliates contributions, user fees and research grants.

3. Where is the NPDP headquarterd?

The secretariat and archive for the program is located at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California at the National Performance of Dams Program.
