I have a lake in which seepage and piping seem to be occuring. The soil type is the Alford series 308C2. The dam height at the highest point is about 42'(backside), the water height at the deepest point is 17'. There is a creek that runs behind the dam, this is where I see most of the seepage and piping. I would like to know if thorough compaction and decreasing the slope of the dam (on the water side)would help to bring this problem under control?
