I am doing research into catastrophic dam failure from the disaster management perspective. I am interested in finding answers to the following questions:- 1. How wide spread are emergency plans for dam failure? 2. Are they well publicised and tested? 3. Do they only apply to publicly owned dams and those oned by large corporations? 4. What is the public's perception of the danger of living downstream of a dam? 5. Are people made aware that they live in a flood inundation zone, should the dam fail?
All answers gratefully received Are they well publicised and tested? 3.
