The Dams Directory is the NPDP’s inventory of US and international dams. The directory is derived from a number of sources, including the U.S. National Inventory of Dams, the World Registry of Dams, and various online sources. Currently there are 134,253 dams in the inventory from 160 countries.
The database contains information on the name, location (i.e., country, state or province, river, latitude and longitude), and characteristics (i.e., dam height, dam type, reservoir size, etc.) of dams. Every effort is taken to ensure that these records are as complete and as accurate as possible.
